This past weekend we headed to Castleton, Virginia to shoot Ben and Michelle’s wedding at The Meadows at Castleton. We were prepped for a rainy and chilly day, but the weather turned around and gave us a beautiful fall day.

The Meadows at Castleton is a stunning wedding venue in Northeastern Virginia. There are several homes on the property, so Ben and Michelle’s guests were all able to stay on venue property to spend the weekend together!

Ben and Michelle were referred to us by Anna and Matt, a 2019 Lytle Couple, so shooting this wedding day felt like a big reunion with some of our favorite people! Working with a bridal party that we’ve already worked with in the past made everything so fun and so easy! Their original wedding date was in June, but 2020 had other plans for them. But I think that fall in the rolling hills of Virginia was an absolutely stunning backdrop for their day!

Michelle and Ben wanted to share their personal vows between just the two of them, so before their first look they stood back to back, and read their promises to each other. She cried, he cried, I cried. It was such a beautiful moment.

Michelle’s cousin performed their sweet wedding ceremony. They incorporated their shared love of nerdy movies and anime in every part of their wedding day. From the invitations, to the table centerpieces at their reception, they personalized each piece of their day.

The Meadows at Castleton is a working farm. I had a vision for a shot in the middle of one of the cattle pastures, and Michelle and Ben didn’t even question it and just stepped over piles of cow poo in order to let me get the shots that I wanted. It was 100% worth it!! (Just wait until you see this pictures!!) I’m always so grateful when couples trust us without question!
