Florida, April 2019. The trip where my poor Pennsylvania winter skin fried on day 2, regardless of the immense amount of sunscreen I put on. Also the trip where I stared at a log in the water for a solid hour because I thought it might be an alligator. It wasn’t.
We met one of my brothers and his family down in Port Charlotte and spent the week soaking up sunshine, exploring beach towns + hanging out with my nephews (and meeting the newest nephew who stole my heart so fast!). We stayed in this perfect Airbnb in Port Charlotte right in an inlet. It was a full house in a quiet neighborhood that had a beautiful screened in pool + the most peaceful dock to sit and drink coffee on in the morning.
Recommendations:
Boca Grande – Rent a golf cart and drive around this beautiful place. The water is the perfect shade of blue-green, the beaches are heaven, the houses were enormous + the architecture is drool worthy.
Farlows On The Water – Do yourself a favor and get the Tuna Nachos. You’ll thank me later.
The Octagon Wildlife Sanctuary – If you have kiddos they’ll love the tigers + bears + monkeys here!
TT’s Tiki Bar – Beautiful place to sit and watch the sunset with live music + good drinks!
