Before this last Christmas Jesse’s brother, Tim, asked if we would do an extended family session with him and his wife, Katie, their 5 kiddos (and 6th on the way!) and both sets of grandparents. He wanted to use the pictures as Christmas gifts for the grandparents. Of course I was more than happy to do it, but between life and some sickness and the craziness that the holiday season brings we didn’t get around to it until about 2 weeks before Christmas! Our session ended up falling on a coldest day that week. It was a whopping 19 degrees with a windchill of 8!
I don’t think I’ve ever had a faster session or worn as many layers as I did for that one. IT WAS FREEZING.
The kiddos were absolute troopers and even took their coats off (very briefly) for some of the pictures.
We did get some really gorgeous, golden, winter sunlight and for that I was oh so grateful!
I’m super blessed to get to capture special family moments like these, but it always feels a little bit extra special when they’re my family. <3
Oh man, I can totally relate when it comes to freezing sessions! (WNYer over here, sooo much snow). You’d never guess they were freezing though! Beautiful portraits! xx
Dang that is COLD! What troopers they are, and beautiful light you got that day!
